To the question of economic effects in connection with the corona-crisis COVID-19

The article considers objective prerequisites for the emergence of global corona-crisis. It is shown that by the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Russia had not yet moved away from the financial and economic crisis of 2014-2015. After analyzing the literature, the authors considered it appropriate to identify five economic effects that are most clearly caused by the corona-crisis: 1) a sharp decline in business activity in a number of industries; 2) a fall in stock markets; 3) a decline in oil prices; 4) an increase in the scale of digitalization of the economy; 5) a deterioration in the labor market. An expert survey was conducted, which showed that among the above five negative economic effects, the decline in oil prices is the strongest for the Russian Federation. The authors believe that the main directions of getting out of the corona-crisis are measures of state support for the population and business, activation of public professional associations and expert councils in the development of a package of anti-crisis measures, as well as further digitalization of the economy and expansion of digital services provided by both well-known and new businesses.
