To the question of definition and measurement of social well-being of population

The article provides scientific approaches to define social well-being, its key elements and rates. It is also notes a complex multicomponent structure of this concept that is why there are the diversity of approaches. There is also an analysis of how to measure social well-being in domestic sociology. It was concluded that universal sociological methods are not exist nowadays. Purposes and objectives, funding, and the timing of each individual research define the choice of social well-being indicators. In conclusion, the author suggests one possible way to measure social well-being in case when a researcher need to do it using a minimum number of indicators.
