Concerning determination of duration period of preliminary investigation in a form of inquiry and the procedure of deadline extension

The article studies the issues of determination and extension of deadline of preliminary investigation in the form of inquiry. The author carries out comparative description of the legal norms regulating the deadline of inquiry and preliminary investigation, and the procedure of its extension. The norms of the criminal procedural law are analysed. It is concluded that it is necessary to reform the legislation. Some solutions to the problem are suggested.
