The article considers a poorly studied in the national historiography aspect of the UK and Canada relations during the World War II. It is the relationship of the Canadian soldiers with the motherland civilians. The author reveals the changes that took place in this field from 1939 to 1944 by analyzing the documents of the Canadian Military Headquarters. The comparison of Canadian materials and a number of research data allows identifying key trends and factors that influenced the dynamics of the sentiments of overseas Canadian forces and their relationships with the British civilians.
