The main focus in the field of engine-building is to increase the capacity of the engine, the intensity of its heat, as well as to reduce fuel consumption, oil and lubricants. The possibility of using ultrasound as a promising option to improve the properties of engine oils is considered. The propagation of ultrasonic waves in a liquid medium has the effects of sound pressure, sound wind and cavitation. The processes of cavitation and ultrasonic dispersion are described in the article. Cavitation in liquids is accompanied by phenomena such as: noise over the entire range of frequencies, the acoustic signal, the acceleration and initiating of chemical reactions; microshowers and intense shock waves, ultrasound glow. The conditions of the positive influence of ultrasound on the quality of engine oils are described.
