The estimation of ultimate normal force for rectangular RC columns

By the example of two sections sizes of rectangular RC columns with a flexibility of not more than 8, some features for the estimation of an ultimate normal force for the cases of large and small eccentricities are considered by the authors. To solve the problem, the results of full-scale static tests by A.G. Komar and an analytical technique presented in the research of M.S. Toryanik are used. With its implementation in the software MathCAD true stresses of tensile reinforcement are taken into account. For confidence estimation the results obtained are compared with the results of numerical evaluation performed with the use of RCDiagra v.1 software.
