Concerning the socialization of the Chechens and Ingush in special settlements in 1940-1950

This article discusses the issues of socialization of special settlers from the North Caucasus in settlements. A study of some historical aspects allows one to reveal the reliable information that was unavailable because of the ideology of Soviet totalitarianism. The author analyzes the relationship between the resident population and the Chechens, the Ingush, their adaptation to new ethnic and cultural environment. The paper focuses on the problems of housing, employment, involvement of the deported peoples in the academic process caused by the adverse living environment for the Chechens and Ingush in the new areas. The study notes a serious contribution of the inmates to the development of national economy in Kazakhstan. Despite the difficulties and harsh climate, the Chechens and Ingush participated in the all-Union movement for the early fulfillment of the first five-year plan. The author concludes that the North Caucasian peoples preserved as ethnic groups, found a second home for their children and took the rightful place in the multicultural environment of Kazakhstan.
