The qualitative analysis of the electromyograms of the maximal voluntary tension of lower limb muscles under distraction osteosynthesis

The dynamics of the variety of lower limb muscle EMG-patterns has been analyzed: 183 orthopaedic patients at the age of 4-27 years (85 males and 98 females) has been studied before, during and in different periods after their lengthening by the method of distraction osteosynthesis. The working classification of the EMG types observed has been proposed; their possible connection is discussed with the mechanisms of motor unit adaptation to the conditions of long graduated distraction of tissues, and that with the restorative processes of the function of controlling muscle groups after the end of treatment
