Quality of life and social programs - issues, trends and dependencies

The article substantiates the necessity of reassessing the significance of the social sphere, as well as the composition of the functional complexes included in it for ensuring the vital activity of an individual and society. The priority of social needs and their role in improving the quality of life are considered. The role of social programs in realizing the main goals of socially oriented society is characterized. The basic indicators incorporated in social programs are analyzed and systematized. One of the topical problems of pension provision in the regional aspect is formulated.
