The quality of life in Russia through the prism of social attitudes of the population

The article is devoted to assessing the quality of life in Russia through the prism of current social attitudes of the local population and in the context of their dynamics due to the social transformation of recent years. The results of a secondary analysis of data from All-Russian public opinion polls on the topic for 2018–2024 are presented. It has been revealed that, despite the objective changes in living conditions in the country since 2020, Russians remain satisfied with its quality, and today – even more than in the pre-transformation period. This contradiction describes the phenomenon of compensatory optimism of society in crisis situations.
