Staffing of healthcare in the Urals in 1918-1941

This article is devoted to analysis of searching of the medical staff during the establishment of the Soviet Health Service in the Ural, based on regional archive sources and documents. The stuff included medical employee who mostly were demobilized medical officers that took new government side after Civil War. Lack of medical staff promoted to organize special trainings in the region. However the first try was not successful and the first Medical faculty of The Ural State University was closed in 1924. The main problem was lack of financial support and government politic of this period. The second try was successful and carried out at the beginning of industrialization when the conditions were prepared for the function of the Medical University. In 1930s the system of training for the nursing staff was organized. While the system of medical schools prepared medical assistants, nurses and midwives. Author concluded that the solution of the staff problem in the end of 1930s was the main factor in the organization of the new system of the Health Service.
