One of the poorly researched spheres of activity of the Kuban State University in the 70-90s is the development of international cooperation of the departments with foreign universities. The authorities set strategic tasks to expand and strengthen its influence in this or that region of the planet. The experience of the USSR has shown that it is possible to achieve geopolitical goals by having friendly states on different continents. The article deals with the participation of the staff of the Theory of Functions Department of the Kuban University in the formation of educational processes at the University of Constantine (Algeria), the Mariam Nguabu University (Brazzaville, People's Republic of Congo), the Eduardo Mondlane University (Maputo, People's Republic of Mozambique), the Augustine Netu University (Luanda, Angola), Pedagogical University (Maputo, People's Republic of Mozambique). This page of the history of the department is associated with the name of the head of the department, professor I.P. Mityuk. The staff of the department had to undergo a strict system of selection of candidates. The officials considered applicants from three positions: professionalism, social activity, moral character and physical condition. More often members of the CPSU were sent abroad for work. In countries that have gained independence, science and research have begun to develop in electronics, solid-state physics, and the problems of using solar energy, in the exploration, production and processing of oil. In all the centers there were Soviet specialists.
