How to build «knowledge-based economy» without economic knowledge?

Modern society with the appropriate system of economic relationships has entered a qualitatively new stage of development. Its essence can be characterized as «knowledge-based economy». In this connection our citizens (especially youth) should be provided with economic knowledge and skills, i.e., to form their economic culture. Thus it is insistently required to include «Economics» course into a number of compulsory subjects, to include it into «The Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Vocational Training» project being under discussion where it is, unfortunately, absent nowadays for training specialists and bachelors in different fields. It will be impossible to build knowledge-based economy without it.
