Calendar customs of the Semeiskie communities in Krasnochikoysky district of the Trans-Baikal territory (late XIXth - first third of the XXth centuries) in a comparative perspective

The article identifies the general and special in the calendrical rites and customs of the Old Believers who lived in the valley of the Chikoy river at the end of the XIXth - first third of the XXth centuries in comparison with russian and Siberian (West Siberian) rites and customs. The author comes to the conclusion that traditional culture of the Semeiskie communities incorporated the components of Northern russian, Siberian («old settlers») and Western (Bryansk-gomel) descent.
