Carpal neuropathy as an indicator of attr-amyloidosis

This article discusses carpal neuropathy as one of the first manifestations of amyloidosis associated with a transthyretin mutation. Due to the prevalence of carpal neuropathy in patients, early diagnosis of ATTR-amyloidosis is possible in the presence of certain symptoms. It is advisable to consider the diagnosis in patients with neuropathy, regardless of the family history, given our current knowledge of sporadic, non-endemic h-ATTR types. Taking into account new treatments for both AL and h-ATTR amyloidosis, it is important to review our approach to diagnosis and treatment in order to identify and treat such patients as early as possible.
