Mapping and monitoring of forest environments on the basis of polarimetric radar data on Baikal region

For study and monitoring of the state and changes of forest environment it is actual to develope and apply radar po-larimetry. We performed a statistical analysis of seasonal changes in the volume components of the Claude-Pottier decomposition for the city Ulan-Ude and its surroundings on the basis of ALOSPALSAR 2007-2009. Results can be used for forest mapping.
