In mapping the distribution of the different properties of the soil cover it is convenient to use the software Surfer, type of geographic information system (GIS) software. This paper compares the different ways of graphical representation of the data depending on the survey area configuration. Mapping is implemented in Surfer 13 by using Kriging, the gridding method. As an example, the values of electrical resistivity measured directly in the field with portable instrument LandMapper ERM-03 was used. It was found that the rectangular section in the Surfer software is mapped automatically. The plot of an arbitrary convex shape also can be easily mapped by the pre-selection option “Blank grid outside convex hull of data”. Lots of complex configuration or a group of sites that do not have common borders need to be blanked manually, i.e. one needs to mark areas that are excluded from mapping by digitizing them. Blanking manually or programmatically simply cover the areas that are not needed.
