The article studies the role and meaning of the Castile - France diplomatic relations between two phases of the Hundred Years' War; the locations of the Pyrenean expeditions by Bertrand du Guesclin and Edward the Black Prince as well as the invasion's impact on the Anglo-French conflict; the consequences of the rise of the House of Trastámara and the rebuilding of the Franco-Castilian alliance; the influence of England's policies in the Pyrenees and the resumption of the Hundred Years' War.
