This article describes an innovative system of assortment management category management. The author analyzes the essence of the approach to managing the assortment and its influence on the development of the enterprise. The relevance of this topic due to the transition to a post-industrial period and the growing competition in the consumer market. On the basis of the study made conclusions about the effectiveness of this technology in activity of trade enterprises.
