Alexander Ivanovich Odoevsky was one of the best Russian poets in the first half of the XIX century. He wrote several thousand poems, but, unfortunately, only eleven from them were published during his life. A few others were remained, as they were wrote down by his friends. Odoevsky-poet is almost unknown now because of not numerous of remained writings, but Odoevsky-dekabrist is well known. Descendant of the very old prince' family, he joined in the secret organizations without doubt and participated in December revolt with great enthusiasm. Odoevsky spend several years in Siberia as convict after arrest and trial, but was transferred at Caucasus. He evaded Mountaineer' bullet or blade, but fell ill with fever and died.
