The article makes an attempt to describe the character of residence in England of those Cossacks, who moved there during the first and second waves of emigration. Among the main reasons for the small number of Cossacks in the UK, the author mentions the remoteness of the country from the borders of Russia, England’s hostile attitude towards Russia before the World War I, the way of life and thinking of Englishmen different from the Cossacks’ one. There was increasing number of Cossack emigrants in England after the World War II.
