Kazan through the eyes of a foreign tourist: problems and prospects of inbound tourism development in the city

The article analyzes the peculiarities of the inbound tourism development in Kazan, the peculiarities of the perception of the city by foreign tourists and the factors restricting tourism development. Kazan is shown as one of the most important centers of international tourism, which may well overcome the bar of 5 million tourist visits per year. The attractiveness of Kazan for foreign tourists is associated with cultural diversity and a large selection of attractions in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, which has absorbed the culture of different peoples. Among the main places where tourists stay, experts in tourism note restaurants, museums, embankments, as well as the historical center of the city. Bauman Street is the most popular in tourists: about 300 tourists pass through it daily. Kazan Kremlin and the G. Kamal Theater are also popular and visited by tourists. Young people consist half of tourists in Kazan and Tatarstan. The disadvantages of the modern inbound tourism industry in Kazan, foreigners call the low level of service. Another negative factor in the development of tourism in the region is the low level of income of locals, which affects not only the standard of living of Kazan residents, but also the hospitality industry.
