The article is devoted to the study of manufacturing technology of ceramics of the beginning of the late bronze Age from the burial mound Sadgorod IV. During the analysis of the ceramics the skills of the potters were identified at all stages of the process. The study of the ornaments allowed distinguishing the key images and compositions. The study of the technology of fabrication and ornamentation of pottery provides us with the grounds to suggestion that burial mounds had been left by the outwardly culturally homogeneous, closely related population. At the same time, the data proves that the studied groups of population began to mingle with others before the construction of the mounds. It is possible to make a preliminary hypothesis about the probable sequence of construction of the mounds. Technological analysis of the pottery from the burial mound Sadgorod IV let us to confirm the attribution of this site to early phase of the Srubnaya (log) culture, to the group of sites without clear signs of the traditions of Abashevo culture.
