Cyberbullying is a new threat to society

In the article, the authors identify the relevance of the problem of cyberbullying. This phenomenon is becoming more common among young people. There is a high degree of public danger of harassment on the Internet, which in most cases leads to serious negative consequences. The authors analyzed the causes and conditions contributing to the phenomenon under consideration. The features of cyberbullying are revealed, statistical data from the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTSIOM) and the Center for the Study of Cyberbullying are presented. In addition, special socio-informational conditions are noted that allow the online aggressor to influence his victim. The analysis of the approaches presented in modern Russian science allowed us to formulate an original conclusion about the content of the concept of cyberbullying. In order to counteract harassment on the Internet, the main preventive measures based on the interaction of employees of the internal affairs bodies and the administration of educational institutions have been identified. The authors have developed a memo for people who have become victims of harassment on the Internet.
