Cybernetics and music: problem statement

The idea to mechanize and automate the processes of creating and playing music has roots stretching back into the distant past. The traditional composers' craft (techniques of repetition, imitation and contrapuntal technique and polyphonic functional harmonic thinking) has the dawning of mechanistic perception of elements of musical art. The article discusses the main aspects of the problem, the modern arts critics and culture experts are dealing with, which is to find the dependence between the structure of music and its impact on the emotional state of a listener and to analyse resources of the modern computer technology in the process of interpenetration and interaction of computer science and musical art.
