Cybercrime as a threat to the economic security of the Russian Federation

The article examines the impact of cybercrime on Russia’s economic security. In particular, it presents the objects and types of cyber threats, as well as their factors and sources in the economy. The article analyzes statistical data on revealed criminal acts of an economic nature, including cybercrimes. The role of IT technologies in the economic activity of the country and its individual subjects, including its security, was revealed. But the development of new and increasingly sophisticated ways of fraud and theft, as well as the most frequent types of fraud committed on the Internet is not standing still. As a result of the study identified possible directions for improving information systems and the introduction of innovations, and, moreover, domestic production, given the current anti-Russian sanctions policy of foreign countries. It seems advisable that to eliminate such a threat as the loss of scientific and technological potential, lagging behind other states in this area, it is necessary to create a system of state support for specialists not at a certain stage of their work or training, but in general. And at the level of the subject of economy it is necessary for each person and organization to understand the importance of their confidential data and the importance of their protection, because it directly affects the economic security of the whole country.
