Kinelskaya volna - a new promising variety of spring soft wheat breeding FPBSI Volga Region Research Institute of Selection and Seed Farming

The article presents the results of breeding work on the creation of a new high-yielding variety of spring soft wheat Kinelskaya volna was conducted. The analysis of the main economic-valuable trait the variety for the years of research, its yield and grain quality indicators was conducted. The economic-biological characteristics of the new variety are given. Variety Kinelskaya volna is characterized by high and stable yield and provides an increase in grain yield over the standard Kinelskaya niva 0.23-0.32 t/ha, the average yield of the variety during the years of testing 2.42 t/ha, the potential of the variety more than 6 t/ha. According to the technological indicators quality of grain meets the requirements of valuable and strong wheat: glassiness 85-90%, grain nature 809-824 g/l, protein content on average 14%, gluten 25%. The variety is characterized by a consistently high strength of flour (353-399 units of alveograph) and high quality gluten (51-59 units of IDK), the total baking score on average 4.3 points. The variety is intended for the production of high quality food grains. Since 2017, the variety has been undergoing State testing in the middle Volga and Ural regions.
