The cinema as a subject of sociological study: potentialities and prospects

The article deals with correlation between the cinema and society, where the cinema is considered as a constituent of culture inseparable from the social reality, which is influenced by the reality and transforms it at the same time. The author discusses popularity of the science-fiction movies, studies potentialities of the sociological analysis applied to the science-fiction films as a supplementary instrument of social research of the problems of the past, present and future.
