Acid precipitation: the scale of the threat and ways to solve environmental problems

The development of industry, transport, the development of new energy sources leads to the fact that the amount of industrial emissions is constantly increasing. This article briefly describes the scope and ways to address the environmental problems associated with acid precipitation. This is mainly due to the use of fossil fuels in thermoelectric installations, industrial plants, automotive engines and residential heating systems. The main components of the anthropogenic impact on the formation of acid rain are considered and generalized. The main cause of acid rain is the presence of sulfur and nitrogen oxides, hydrogen chloride and other acid-forming compounds in the atmosphere due to industrial emissions.
