Chinese foreign policy in Central Asia and Russia's interests

Advantageous economic-geographical and military-strategic position of Central Asia, huge natural resources and cheap labor resources along with transport-communicative opportunities, make the region an object of attraction for Russia, the US, China, Turkey and the European Union. China is trying to activate its own presence in the region. At the same time, the energy resources of Central Asia and the prospect of overland transport and energy communications to the People's Republic of China for the export of goods under the megaproject «The Great Silk Road» are a priority in the regional strategy of Beijing.
