The classical reminiscences in the tractate "Adversus Marcionem" by Tertullian

In this article an attempt is made to prove that Tertullian in (Adv. Marc. V, 9, 2) used the Ovid's (Met. XV, 871-876) and Horace's (Od. III, 30, 1-5) verses for more clear demonstration of perishability of the bodies, destined for resurrection, and imperishability of the soul, not destined for resurrection. This reference to the works of the heathen poets proves the idea that Tertullian was a skillful and original interpreter of the classical texts.
