Classification of simultaneous surgeries in elderly and senile patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia

We have developed and implemented an evidence-based classification system for simultaneous surgeries (SS) in elderly and senile patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. We used the data on 191 geriatric patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia that underwent SS in the Division of Urology of the Samara Regional Clinical Hospital for Veterans of Wars between 2000 and 2015. We suggest classifying SS by the following criteria: type of surgery, type and number of diseases that planned to be treated by simultaneous surgery, stages of surgery, type of anesthesia, surgical and anesthetic risk, and surgical technique.
