On the basis of comparison of authentic sources (documents and memoirs) and works of soviet historians about the role of the Russian peasantry class struggle during the Patriotic War of 1812, the author attempts to draw unbiased and objective conclusions about correlation between the peasantry class struggle and patriotic feelings of peasants in the course of this famous campaign.
