The cluster approach to the identification of the region''S specialization

The article describes the cluster approach to the formation of specialization of the regional economy. Shift-Share analysis of economic activity in the Republic of Buryatia is done, the degree of influence of national, sectoral and regional factors on the change in the value of employment in the region, taken as analyzed indicator, is determined. The localization coefficients of the economic activities are also calculated. On the analysis basis the maps of the components of potential clusters in the region are built. The number of people employed in agriculture is 14, 4% of total employment in the Republic of Buryatia, the share in the gross regional product is 5, 4%. The estimated values of the coefficients of localization of the leading potential clusters has shown that the agriculture possesses the greatest concentration.
