Clusters as initiators of innovative processes in regional economy

The article is concerned with the cluster approach to the development of a regional socioeconomic system. The presence of clusters in the regional territory is a sign of innovative orientation of its economy. The importance of the research of essence and principles of the territorial cluster formation is determined by the fact, that nowadays it is the clusters that intensify the innovative activity of the economic entities. Modern international experience proves that the most progressive forms of innovational development are implemented with the most success within the framework of the regional clusters.
