The article examines in detail the state, tasks and implementation of the climate dialogue in the world with the participation of the Russian Federation and shows the problems of climate change and the need for the efforts of the world community to pursue «green policy». The authors cite a significant amount of documents from the 26th Conference of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Glasgow (COP26). The practical results of the latter reflect the interests, conditions, contradictions and the level of political will that exists in the world today, which is not enough to overcome deep divisions. The authors consider risks and benefits of «green policy» for the Russian Federation. Russia as an integral part of the global economic system faces the task of minimizing the costs of the «Green Transition» through active participation in the further development of global norms for the transition to a low-carbon economy and through the adaptation of the national economy to new norms. The «Green Transition» should become an impetus in Russia for the modernization of production capacities, for the introduction of the ESG agenda in business, for the development of sustainable development financing instruments. The climate issue in Russia should be analyzed in the context of the general foreign policy positioning and the assertion of the country's national interests. The article emphasizes that climate partnerships are a promising format of international cooperation that allows developing relations even in the face of fundamental ideological and geopolitical contradictions.
