The article presents the review of domestic and foreign specialized medical literature devoted to the pathogenesis and symptoms of PNS associated with malignant neoplasms of people. The article shows the clinical heterogeneity of PNS including affection of central vegetative and peripheral nervous systems. The most studied are paraneoplastic encephalomyelitis paraneoplastic cerebellar degeneration, paraneoplastic retinopathies, opsoclonus-myoclonus syndrome, stiff-person syndrome, paraneoplastic subacute sensory neuropathy, Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome, paraneoplastic myositis. The understanding of autoimmune pathogenesis of PNS enables to work out effective immunomodulatory cancer therapy considerably improving the life quality of patients.
