The work is a survey of the literature data on the actual problem of female alcoholism. The article gives a detailed analysis of the causes and the stages of formation of alcohol dependence in women. Special attention is given to the development of alcohol dependence among women in marital relations with male alcoholics. Details are described variants of alcoholism in women, depending on age, social status and marital status. In light of the observed data, the possible variants of the forecast in terms of rehabilitation and treatment approaches to alcohol dependence in women.
