Microbial-inflammatory diseases of the urinary system (MVS) remain one of the most urgent problems in pediatrics. Over the past decade, there has been a twofold increase in the frequency of this pathology in the children's population. In the structure of diseases of the urinary system, pyelonephritis (PN) is from 40% to 70%. At the same time, the frequency of occurrence of PN increases up to 10 times if the child has increased risk factors for the development of this pathology. The increase in the incidence of PN is due not only to improved diagnostic capabilities and improved quality of medical examination of children, but also to increased virulence and antibiotic resistance of microorganisms, as well as an increase in the number of children with abnormalities of the development of the urinary system and other unfavorable premorbid conditions. The recurrent course of PN, especially against the background of urological anomalies, often leads to chronic renal failure. Despite the modern antibacterial treatment and a certain tendency to improve the results of treatment, currently the percentage of disability of such patients does not decrease.
