The key aspects of the concept of “communication” are considered. They are revealed from the point of view of different branches of science and various approaches to determining the essence of communication. Separately, the role of communication in pedagogical activity is characterized. A hypothesis is expressed about the increasing role of communicative knowledge in the development of pedagogical science and practice.
