The main directions of the state policy in the field of socio-economic development of the Kuril islands

The article examines the main trends in the modern state policy on social and economic development of the Kuril Islands and estimates the significance of this policy. The author concludes that the problems of development of transport, energy and social infrastructure, creation of favorable business environment, stabilization of the demographic situation haven’t been solved yet.
