Book Collections on the Great Patriotic War in the Scientific Library of Dorzhi Banzarov Buryat State University

The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the book collections housed in the local literature collection and the rare books collection of the Scientific Library of Dorzhi Banzarov Buryat State University, dedicated to the period of the Great Patriotic War. The article examines the formation, composition, and storage features of these unique materials that document the contribution of the peoples of Buryatia to the victory over fascism. The library sources were categorized by the authors into original wartime editions; postwar publications; books by war veterans; and contemporary works reflecting themes of the Great Patriotic War. The scholarly novelty of the article lies in the systematization and description of previously underexplored sources, including rare wartime publications, personal libraries of war participants, propaganda materials, and documents related to home front activities. Special emphasis is placed on the regional dimension, represented by materials on the heroism of Buryatia’s residents and their contributions both on the battlefield and in labor
