Conceptual metaphor in the contemporary sociological discourse

The article deals with consideration of specificity of conceptual metaphor in the contemporary English and Russian sociological discourse. It relies on the concept «implicit meaning», different interpretations of a great many sociological terms, which quite often retain their expressivity for a long time. It is devoted to the cognitive, informative, suggestive, simulative, communicative, expressive, evaluative, aesthetic; hedonistic functions of metaphor in the contemporary sociological texts.
