The present paper briefly recalls theoretical preconditions for forming a new approach in the political discourse research - cognitive-discursive future studies and its functions as well. The discussed approach is supposed to be a systemic junction of theories and conceptions of future suggested in philosophy, future studies, political science and political linguistics.
