Collaboration of libraries and professional market participants in order to develop domestic tourism

The subject of the research is the process of “embedding” libraries in tourism infrastructure in order to develop domestic tourism in the Russian Federation. The initial data of the study are: 1) the content of regulatory documents governing tourist information activities, 2) cases characterizing the “tourist” activity of libraries, 3) the functional tasks of modern tourist information centers as professional participants in the tourism market. The following methods were used: analysis of theoretical sources; systematization of secondary data characterizing the “tourist” library projects; analysis of empirical data (expert interviews of representatives of tourism and library fields of activity). The conducted study allowed us to conclude that it is necessary to collaborate with libraries and professional market participants as a condition for the formation of their non-competitive synergy relations in order to develop domestic tourism. To implement the joint project activities of libraries and tourist centers, the main strategic models of knowledge management at the micro level are proposed.
