Collections of the stone age as a source of the archaeology history of Buryatia (on the materials of the museum of the Buryat Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences)

The article analyzes the history of the formation and composition of the collections of the Stone Age in the Museum of the Buryat scientific center of the Siberian branch of the Russian Academy of sciences. The obtained results demonstrate a systematic extension of research interests during the 2nd half of the XXth century - early XXIst century. Numerical superiority in comparison with the collections of other periods is underlined. The archaeologists' personalities connected with the creation of collections are considered. The author comes to the conclusion that the role of such a complex source in studying the history of science, including the archeology of the stone age of Buryatia, is important.
