Collection of tin miniature as a historical source

The article analyzes the history of Petr Fedorovish Kosmolinsky's collection in the funds of the National Museum of the History of Buryatia as uni-formological source. The author studies its content and also the experience of using the museum collection of the military historical miniature in the exhibition activities. The author comes to the conclusion that the collection of tin miniature is a unique source for studying the uniform of the XVIII-XIX centuries of the Russian imperial army and arouses interest of the younger generation in exploring the history of Russia.
