Collection of living microalgae strains of the Institute of biology, Komi science centre, Ural branch, RAS, and its perspective using

Soil algae collection, stored in the Institute of Biology, Komi Science Centre, is described. Taxonomic and ecological groups of algae strains, extracted from different terrestrial ecosystems as well as rare species and taxa of uncertain systematic position are represented in the collection.
