Collection fund of the exposition "Wild-growing useful plants" of the Department of natural flora of the Tsitsin Main Botanical Garden of the RAS

The article describes the history of the creation of the exposition "Wild-growing useful plants" of the Department of Natural Flora of the Tsitsin Main Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences (MBG RAS). The exposition was founded in 1950. The main task of the research work is to study the characteristics of plant growth and development in new growing conditions as an indicator of the quality of introduction. An annotated list of the collection's plants currently growing on exposition is presented. The collection contains 250 species and subspecies belonging to 165 genera and 63 families. For each taxon, information on the life form, time of introduction to the collection, terms of vegetation, features of reproduction and stability in culture is provided. The approaches to the creation of an exposition "Wild-growing useful plants" of the GBS RAS, classification and location of plants on the territory are described. Currently, collection samples are used to monitor the adaptation of plants to new growing conditions, as well as the degree of plasticity and the level of stability.
