The article introduces readers to the history of the Museum in Kolomenskoye in the 1960's-2010's. Kolomenskoye was granted the status of a Museum-Reserve in December 1966. This status helped to preserve the territory of the ancient Palace estate from attempts to reduce it when planning the construction of Central highways. The Museum received an independent status - the State Museum-reserve «Kolomenskoye» in 1971. The first specialized storage facility in Russia was built in Kolomenskoye in 1983. The Museum in Kolomenskoye was widely known. It was often visited by foreign guests, representatives of the soviet intelligentsia. The Church of the Ascension in Kolomenskoye was included in the UNESCO world heritage list in 1994. The Moscow State Integrated Museum-Reserve was created in 2005 as a cessionary of the Kolomenskoye State Museum-Reserve. It includes the Royal residences of Kolomenskoye and Izmailovo, the Lefortovo Palace and Park ensemble, and the Lublino noble estate.
